Ex-Jigawa Governor Reveals Intention to Contest for PDP National Chairman

A former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has revealed his intention to contest for the position of National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Lamido, who also served as Minister of Foreign Affairs under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, disclosed that he will purchase the nomination form to contest for the position via a post on his verified Facebook handle on Monday morning.

The post reads: “By the grace of God, I shall today Monday 27th October 2025 by 11am be at Wadata Plaza, the National Headquarters of our very party, PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY to purchase the nomination form to run for the office of the National Chairman of the Party. My commitment to Democracy and resolve to restore our dear Party to its old glory is unstoppable!”

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is set to elect a new National Chairman in its forthcoming convention. Meanwhile, PDP stakeholders in the North had earlier endorsed former Minister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN) as their consensus candidate for the position.
