2027 Tarauni: Hafiz Kawu, OON, mni — The Right Man for the Job

As the 2027 general elections draw closer, conversations around credible representation in Tarauni Federal Constituency are gradually gaining momentum. Among the heavyweights and brides eyeing for this seat, one stands out prominently, Hon. Hafiz Kawu, OON, mni, Federal Commissioner at the National Pension Commission (PenCom), a man whose record of service and youth development continue to speak for themselves.

Hon. Hafizu, who previously represented the good people of Tarauni under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from 2019–2023, has over the years demonstrated what it means to combine knowledge and visionary leadership with people-centred development. His years in office were defined by tangible projects, infrastructural renewal, and empowerment initiatives that touched every ward within the constituency.

One of his most remarkable interventions was the multi-billion-naira road project that linked almost every corner of the local government. The road not only opened up communities that were once inaccessible but also improved mobility, boosted local business, and enhanced the aesthetic outlook of Tarauni. Even after leaving office, Kawu personally intervened to ensure that contractors returned to site for its completion — a rare gesture in Nigerian politics.

Beyond infrastructure, Kawu also invested heavily in education and healthcare development. During his tenure, he facilitated the construction and renovation of several classrooms across the local government, creating a conducive learning environment for children. He also championed the establishment of primary health centres.

In addition, the former lawmaker provided boreholes and solar-powered water systems to address the perennial water challenges in parts of Tarauni, while his empowerment programmes for women and youth created new opportunities for self-reliance through vocational training and job placements.

Hon. Hafiz’s multi-sectoral approach to governance positioned Tarauni as a model constituency during his time in the Green Chamber.

It is, therefore, not surprising that calls for his return to active representation in 2027 are growing louder. Many constituents view him as a bridge between the government and the grassroots — a leader who listens, acts, and delivers.

In an era where political rhetoric often overshadows real service, Hafiz Kawu stands out as a man who lets his work speak for him. His calm demeanour, accessibility, and commitment to human capacity development make him, once again, the man for the job in Tarauni.

As 2027 approaches, the people of Tarauni will have a choice to make — between promises and proven performance. For many, that choice may already be clear.

Hafiz Kawu is the answer!
