The Emir of Jajere in Yobe State,Alhaji Mai Hamza Ibn Buba Mashio, has called for peace, education and social reform as the foundation for prosperity in his domain

The Emir who is also the Grand Patron of Tabital Pulaaku International (Nigeria Chapter),made the call while addressing Fulani community leaders during a pivotal meeting in Babbangida, Tarmuwa Local Government Area.

The royal father laid out a comprehensive vision to end longstanding farmer-herder conflicts to secure a brighter future for all.

He appealed for peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders, pointing out that unity is not merely a social ideal but an essential bedrock for economic prosperity and community stability.

“For us to thrive, we must live in harmony, prevent conflicts, and wholeheartedly support government initiatives designed for peace,” he said.

The Emir cited common triggers of conflict such as land encroachment and a lack of mutual respect, urging both groups to engage in dialogue and understanding to permanently resolve these issues.

He urged all families to enroll their children in school, declaring formal education as a critical pathway to “development, empowerment, and integration into Nigeria’s modern socio-economic system.”

He also charged parents and community leaders to vigilantly guide their youth away from the dangers of drug abuse, addiction, and other vices.

This directive reinforces a community-wide effort to foster a healthy, productive, and morally upright younger generation.

The meeting, convened to tackle security challenges and criminal activities affecting livelihoods, has been widely praised as a model of traditional leadership taking decisive action.
