NAF Promotes 455 Base Kano Commander, M. Sulaiman, to Air Commodore

The Nigerian Air Force has promoted the Commander of 455 Base Services Group, Kano, Mustapha Sulaiman, to the rank of Air Commodore.
A reception held in honour of the Commander 455 Base Kano, took place at the Base Hall in Kano with hundreds of well wishers, top military officers and government dignitaries in attendance.
The Nigerian Ambassador to Niger Republic Mohammad Daura, who served as special guest of honour, praised Sulaiman’s sense of discipline, integrity and dedication to service, describing the promotion as well-deserved.
Squadron Leader Abubakar Wada Commanding officer Admin Services Wing 455 BSG NAF Base Kano, presented a souvenir of appreciation on behalf of officer’s airmen and air women and Civilian staff of 455 Base Service Group NAF Base Kano.
The Commander of 3rd brigade Bukavu Barack, Brigadier General A.M Tukur who made a toast with the Commander on behalf of the dignitaries present, congratulated the new Air Commodor on his promotion.
Air Commodor M. Sulaiman has held several appointments at units and headquarters level. They include
Liaison officer Sector Bravo at United Nations Military observer in the United Nations Mission in Liberia.
Head of department of supply management at the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) Kano
Deputy Director, Procurement at Defence Headquarters Abuja.
He was also Commander 671 Nigerian Air Force Detachment Ibadan and the Command logistics officer at mobility command Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
Air Commodore Mustapha Sulaiman took over the mantle of leadership as the Commander 455 Base Service Group Kano on 30 June, 2023.
Speaking at the reception, the newly promoted Commander, appreciated the President and the Commander In-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for providing an enabling environment where professionalism, loyalty and service to the nation are recognized and rewarded.
Air Commodore Mustapha Sulaiman expressed his deepest appreciation to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke and the Executive Governor of Kano State for his unwavering support.
He expressed gratitude to his parents, especially his mother for her continuous mentorship, guidance and moral support. He also thanked his wife, brothers and Co-Located NAF United commandants and commanders.
Among the dignitaries that witnessed the occasion were Kano State Commissioner of Police and Commanders of sister security agencies showcasing strong inter-agency cooperation and respect.
