FRSC, NEMA sensitize motorists on road safety hours to Yuletide in Adamawa

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adamawa Sector Command and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have conducted a joint special Ember Months Safety Operation along the Welcome to Yola Gate in the state capital.
Leading the special operation in Yola Wednesday, Sector Commander, CC Abdulmaliq Dama Bello explained to motorists plying the road that the exercise was aimed at enhancing road safety, reducing traffic crashes, and sensitizing them (motorists) on safe driving practices during the festive period.
Commander Bello reminded motorists
to ensure vehicle roadworthiness and observe all traffic regulations, especially during the increased vehicular( high traffic) movements associated with the Yuletide season.
Bello while on the safety awareness campaign in company of the NEMA officials distributed FRSC-customized bottled water to motorists, encouraging them to stay hydrated, remain alert, and avoid fatigue while driving.
He also reiterates his sector command’s commitment to sustaining enforcement, education, and collaboration with sister agencies to ensure zero tolerance for road traffic crashes throughout the Ember Months and beyond.
During the exercise, officers of FRSC and NEMA engaged motorists through on-the-spot sensitization, emphasizing the dangers of speeding, overloading, reckless driving, drunk driving, and the importance of seat belt usage.
Our Correspondent reported that, the exercise recorded positive feedback and cooperation from motorists, who appreciated the proactive approach of FRSC and NEMA in ensuring safer roads during the festive season.
Motorists interviewed at the scene of the exercise like Mohammed Ismail and Mary Jude expressed gratitude to the FRSC and its partner for embarking on such sensitization campaigns noting it was apt and timely especially with the massive journeys by road at this year’s festive season.
