Falgore Mourns Death of Two Kano Lawmakers, Describes Loss as Devastating

The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of two serving members of the Assembly, Hon. Aminu Sa’adu Ungogo and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, describing their passing as heartbreaking and devastating.

Hon. Ungogo, who represented Ungoggo Local Government Area, was the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, while Hon. Daneji, representing Birnin Kano, served as Chairman of the Committee on Hajj Pilgrims.

In a statement issued on Thursday, December 25, 2025, by the Speaker’s spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, Falgore said the late lawmakers were disciplined, principled, and committed to serving their constituents and the state with integrity.

According to him, Kano State has lost two outstanding personalities whose contributions to legislative development and governance will not be forgotten.

“Kano State has indeed lost two of its finest personalities. This is a loss for all of us, but the grief and sorrow are the deepest and most poignant,” the Speaker said.

Falgore noted that from the onset of their legislative careers, both lawmakers demonstrated exceptional dedication to duty, sound leadership skills, and remarkable competence in handling sensitive responsibilities entrusted to them.

He added that their deaths constitute a monumental loss not only to the Kano State House of Assembly but also to the state and the country at large, given their experience and commitment to public service.

The Speaker further recalled their strong working relationships with colleagues and constituents, stressing that their absence would be greatly felt within the Assembly and beyond.

On behalf of the Kano State House of Assembly, Falgore extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased lawmakers, the Kano State Government, and the people of the state.

He also prayed for Allah to grant the bereaved families the strength to bear the loss and to forgive the shortcomings of the departed lawmakers.

“May Allah grant them eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus,” he prayed.
