Committee on Minor Works Renovation Commences First Supervisory Visit at Yobe State University

The Committee on the Supervision of Minor Works Renovation at Yobe State University has carried out its first official supervisory visit to inspect ongoing projects across the campus.
According to a statement signed by Uwani Zainab Mahmud, Director of Information and Protocol at Yobe State University, the committee chaired by Professor Mohammad Bello Kawuwa, conducted the visit in collaboration with the University Management to assess the progress, quality, and compliance of the projects geared towards ensuring a conducive and sustainable learning environment.
Projects inspected during the visit include the renovation of the Council Chamber, extension of the low-tension (LT) power line to the Faculty of Agriculture, renovation of the Bursary Department and the offices of the Director of Works, construction of a security outpost, renovation of the Administrative Block Mosque, procurement of tables and chairs for staff offices, renovation of twin 250-capacity lecture theatres, renovation of a 150-capacity lecture theatre, and procurement of two official vehicles for the Bursar and the University Librarian.
During the inspection, Professor Kawuwa emphasized the importance of maintaining quality standards and directed the Director of Works to ensure timely completion of all projects. He noted that the target completion date for the projects is early January 2026.
Professor Kawuwa also appreciated the University Governing Council for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the Committee.
In his remarks, the Acting Registrar, Mallam Garba Ahmadu Girgir, expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded and commended the initiative, noting that the projects, when completed, would significantly enhance the teaching, learning, and working environment of the University.
The Committee comprises members drawn from both the University Governing Council and Management, reflecting a shared commitment to institutional growth and development.
