Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commended the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, and his wife, Hajiya Nana Shettima, for their generous donations to the overall winner of the National Qur’anic Recitation Competition, Hafsat Muhammad Sada.
This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Wednesday.
The Governor made the commendation while receiving members of the Kano State contingent who participated in the competition held in Borno State, at the Government House, Kano.
Governor Yusuf described the donation of an electric car by the Vice President and the sum of five million naira donated by his wife as a strong encouragement that will motivate youths to devote themselves to Qur’anic studies and moral upbringing.
He noted that such gestures promote Islamic education and reward excellence among young scholars across the country.
The Governor reaffirmed that Kano State remains proud of its long-standing tradition in Qur’anic education and will continue to support initiatives that uplift scholars, reciters, and institutions dedicated to Islamic learning.
Governor Yusuf prayed for Allah’s continued guidance and blessings upon the Vice President and his family.
He also congratulated the overall winner and other participants for their dedication and outstanding performance in the competition.
