Honourable Hafizu Kawu has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating fire outbreak at Singer Market in Kano, which destroyed several shops and goods worth millions of naira.
He described the incident as a great tragedy that has caused immense hardship to hardworking traders who depend on the market for their daily livelihood. He extended his thoughts and prayers to all those affected during this difficult period.
Hon. Kawu noted that Singer Market remains one of the key commercial centres serving millions of families, adding that the economic impact of the disaster cannot be overstated. According to him, the loss suffered by the traders is not only personal but also a setback to the collective economic growth of the state.
He called on relevant government agencies, emergency response authorities, and well-meaning individuals to urgently provide relief and support to cushion the impact on the victims.
The former lawmaker also urged traders and market authorities to strengthen safety measures to prevent future occurrences of such tragic incidents.
Hon. Kawu assured the affected traders of his solidarity and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting them as efforts continue toward recovery and rebuilding.
