The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, has congratulated Muslim faithful on the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, urging them to use the period to pray for Kano State and the nation at large.
Falgore’s message was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by his spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai.
The Speaker described Ramadan as a sacred period that embodies compassion, generosity, and mutual support among Muslims. He stressed the need for increased sacrifice, particularly towards the less privileged and vulnerable members of society.
According to him, the holy month offers an opportunity for deep reflection, intensified prayers, and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence.
“Ramadan presents an opportunity to pray more for Kano State and the country as a whole,” Falgore said, while praying to Allah to accept the supplications and acts of worship of the faithful during the fasting period.
On behalf of the members of the Kano State House of Assembly, the Speaker extended sincere prayers to Muslims throughout the month and called on citizens to continue to pray for unity, peace, and stability in the state and across Nigeria.
