Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe, a member representing Dawakin Tofa/Tofa/Rimin Gado Federal Constituency in Kano State, was booed at the party congress held in Tofa local government area of the state over the weekend.
The National Assembly member was hurriedly escorted out of the ward congress following protests by some aggrieved youths.
The incident occurred while Jobe was delivering a speech in his hometown of Tofa.
In one of the videos, a voice from the crowd was heard saying, “Wallahi, our leader, there are issues to fix. We hunters, you have not considered us.”
Viral clips circulating on social media showed supporters chanting disapproval while confronting the lawmaker during the party’s leadership election meeting.
The situation appeared to escalate as some youths continued shouting and making abusive remarks.
Subsequent footage showed aides and supporters trying to escort the lawmaker away from the venue in a vehicle amid the growing tension.
Earlier this month, Jobe had appealed to his constituents to forgive him for any shortcomings during a stakeholders’ meeting of the party, a gathering that reportedly ended in disorder.
The lawmaker, currently serving his fifth term in the House of Representatives, is reportedly seeking a sixth term.
His recent return to the APC has fuelled speculation that he may be aiming to secure an automatic ticket for the next election.
Tofa’s outing was said to be his first major public appearance in his hometown since winning a fifth term in 2023.
Some aggrieved community members have criticised Jobe’s legislative record.
