The Ummah Movement, headquartered at the National Islamic Centre in Dogarawa, Zaria, has strongly condemned the joint military strikes launched by the United States of America and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In a statement signed by its National Amir, Prof. Muhammad Babangida, the movement described the attack which occurred on Saturday, February 28 as an “unprovoked and criminal aggression” deliberately timed during the holy month of Ramadan.
Prof. Babangida expressed deep concern over the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatullah Khamna’i, and other key figures, calling the act cowardly and a dangerous precedent in international relations.
He accused both US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of pursuing expansionist agendas without regard for human values or international law.
“The promoters of genocide in Gaza have once again shown their disregard for peace and humanity,” the statement read. “Their deceptive negotiations in Geneva while plotting war reveal their insincerity and hunger for dominance.”
The Ummah Movement urged the Nigerian government to condemn the assault and revoke any existing military agreements with the US and Israel.
It also called on Muslim nations in the Middle East to close American military bases and expel foreign troops, warning that continued aggression could escalate into a global conflict involving Russia and China.
The movement emphasized that immediate and unified action from Muslim countries is essential to restore peace and stability in the region.
