As part of efforts to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day, the International Society of Media in Public Health engaged the Acting Director General of the Kano State Private Health Institutions Management Agency, Hajiya Khadija Hussain Sa’id, to share insights on women’s empowerment and societal development.
Speaking during the commemoration on Tuesday, Hajiya Khadija Hussain Sa’id described the 2026 theme “Give to Gain” as a timely reminder of the transformative impact of empowering women across various sectors.
According to her, the theme encapsulates the essence of collective progress of how supporting a woman extends beyond the individual to benefit her family, community, and society at large.
“When you support a woman, you’re supporting the society. From there, you support the whole community, and it goes on and on. It benefits her family, her community, and the nation as a whole,” she said.
Hajiya Khadija emphasized that empowering women through education, healthcare, and economic inclusion remains vital to achieving growth and progress within society.
She noted that women have the natural ability to multiply the value of every opportunity they receive.
“When you give a woman anything like love, education, or financial assistance, she multiplies it. Give her good health, and she nurtures a healthier society. Once you empower a woman, you empower the whole nation,” she stated.
The Acting Director General commended the International Society of Media in Public Health for its efforts in promoting women’s development through awareness and advocacy, reiterating that the “Give to Gain” initiative reflects the collective responsibility to ensure women’s inclusion in all aspects of national development.
She called on stakeholders to continue investing in women’s empowerment as a pathway to sustainable growth, peace, and prosperity in Nigeria.
