From Abubakar Rabilu, Gombe
A prominent member of Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Zakariyya Jidda, has reaffirmed his loyalty to the party’s leadership at all levels, urging members to prioritise unity and internal cohesion as the party prepares for future political engagements.
Jidda made the call in an interview with journalists following the APC’s national convention and a high-level consultative meeting convened to assess the party’s progress and strengthen its internal democratic processes.
He praised the Governor of Gombe State and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, describing him as a disciplined and forward-looking leader whose influence continues to bolster the party’s standing both in northern Nigeria and across the country.
According to Jidda, the governor’s inclusive approach to governance has fostered stability, improved coordination among stakeholders, and reinforced party unity in the region.
He also extended his congratulations to key party officials, including the APC National Chairman and the Deputy Financial Secretary, Dattuwa Ali Kumo, commending their dedication and contributions to strengthening the party’s organisational structure.
Reflecting on the outcomes of the recent zonal congress, Jidda said the process demonstrated the APC’s commitment to internal democracy and broader stakeholder participation in decision-making.
Reiterating his allegiance to the party, he pledged continued support for policies and initiatives aimed at promoting unity, good governance, and sustainable development.
He further urged party members to remain focused and united, emphasising that cohesion within the ranks would be critical to the APC’s long-term success in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
