In a public opinion survey conducted by abknews24 across various parts of the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State within one week, 89.7% of respondents chose Murtala Sule Garo as the most suitable candidate to serve as Deputy Governor to the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Following the emergence of the vacancy for the position of Deputy Governor in Kano State, aspirants have been actively seeking ways to occupy the office.
A closer assessment of all contenders for the position indicates that no politician matches the level of experience possessed by Murtala Sule Garo, based on several factors.
These include his political journey, which began at the grassroots level—starting from his ward and progressing steadily to his current standing.
Garo has held various positions at both government and party levels, in addition to leading several committees that recorded notable successes.
He is widely regarded as a man of the people, known for extending support not only to members of his own party but also to those from other political affiliations, reflecting his generosity.
It is on this basis that many believe no one is currently better suited to occupy the position of Deputy Governor of Kano State and effectively engage with politicians in line with modern realities than Murtala Sule Garo.
At the end of the survey, the publication concluded that the success of the APC in Kano State and across the country was significantly supported by the contributions of Murtala Sule Garo.
Despite these achievements, some individuals are reportedly making efforts to undermine him, according to views gathered from some of the respondents interviewed.
