The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE), Kano Chapter, will on Saturday, April 11, 2026, inaugurate Engr. Hauwa Ibrahim Khaleel as its fifth chairman.
The event, themed “Safe Solar Systems: Engineering Standards, Field Practices, and Risk Control,” is scheduled to hold at the NIA Secretariat, MT Waziri House, Gyadi Gyadi Zaria Road, Kano, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Engr. Felix A. Adegboye, President and Chairman-in-Council of NIEEE, will chair the occasion, while Engr. Dr. Ibrahim Abba, the immediate past chairman of NIEEE Kano Chapter, will host the ceremony.
The programme will feature distinguished guests, including Engr. M.B. Shehu, who will serve as the Guest of Honor, alongside Kano State commissioners Dr. Nura Iro Maaji, Commissioner for Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, and Engr. Gaddafi Sani Shehu, Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy.
Key discussants for the event include Engr. Muhammad Kabir Salihu, Zonal Head of NITDA, Kano Office, and Engr. Muntaqa Muhammad of MTN. The keynote speaker will be Engr. Dr. Abdurraman Umar Lawan, Director of DD CREST at Bayero University, Kano.
Engr. Hauwa Ibrahim Khaleel is a Nigerian engineer and Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE). She currently serves as the Director of Power & Infrastructure in the Ministry of Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Kano State.
The inauguration underscores NIEEE Kano Chapter’s commitment to promoting engineering standards, safe solar practices, and risk management in the region’s rapidly evolving energy sector.
