The Kano State Police Command has formally expressed appreciation to the Executive Director of Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices YOSPIS, Hajia Zainab Nasir Ahmad for the organisation’s outstanding support towards the “Kano Model” of Youth Rehabilitation.
The command describe the initiative as a significant step in strengthening community-based security efforts.
In a letter dated April 13, 2026, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, acknowledged the invaluable contributions of YOSPIS and its presence at the recent handover ceremony of rehabilitated youths.
He emphasized that security remains a collective responsibility and lauded the role of private individuals and organisations in fostering social reform.
The Police Command further highlighted the collaborative efforts of key stakeholders, including Dr Aminu Magashi Garba, Hon. Bappa Babba DanAgundi and DIG Mohammed Usaini Gumel (Rtd), noting that their advocacy continues to inspire wider participation in peace-building initiatives across Kano State.
According to the statement, the partnership has been instrumental in the successful reintegration of 36 individuals into productive society, reinforcing the importance of rehabilitation as a strategic approach to crime prevention.
The Command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property while encouraging sustained collaboration between security agencies, civil society organisations, and philanthropic actors.
“The support received serves as a beacon for other stakeholders to invest in the peace and stability of our State,” the Commissioner noted.
