Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) Kano, has recorded another significant milestone following the grant of Full Accreditation by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to four of its new academic programmes namely, Public Health, Data Science, Information Systems and Law.
The Full Accreditation of the four academic programmes was conveyed to the Management of MAAUN in an official letter dated 7th April, 2026, signed by the Executive Secretary of the NUC.
According to the letter, the accreditation exercise conducted by the commission in October/November 2025, approved the following programmes with Full Accreditation Status:
Health Sciences
1. Public Health
Computing
1.Data Science
2.Information Systems
Law
1.Law
The Full accreditation of the four academic programmes by the NUC signifies that these programmes have met the required national standards in curriculum content, infrastructure, staffing, learning resources, and overall academic delivery.
With the Full Accreditation of these programmes, MAAUN has now a total of 19 academic programmes that have Full accreditation of the NUC.
The Management of the university has expressed appreciation to the Founder MAAUN Group of Universities, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, for his continued support to the university which contributed to achieving this success.
The university therefore, reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the provision of quality education to enable its graduates compete with other graduates across the globe.
