The newly sworn-in Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on Wednesday formally assumed office as the number two citizen of the state.
The historic occasion, which saw Garo accompanied by notable dignitaries as he took charge, included former Governors of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Malam Ibrahim Shekarau; former Deputy Governor, Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo; Member representing Bichi Federal Constituency, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, alongside his counterpart from Doguwa/Tudunwada Federal Constituency, Alhassan Ado Doguwa; and the State Minister for FCT, Mariya Mahmud Bunkure, among others.
In his remarks, the Deputy Governor thanked Almighty Allah for granting him the opportunity to witness the historic day.
He also expressed appreciation to the State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, and other relevant stakeholders for entrusting him with the mandate.
Garo assured that he would judiciously utilize the advice offered to him towards achieving the “Kano First Agenda” of Governor Yusuf for the progress of the state.
He further prayed for Allah’s guidance in his new role and appreciated the people of Kano State for their support and prayers.
Earlier, the dignitaries unanimously congratulated the Deputy Governor and advised him to remain patient, loyal, and committed in the discharge of his duties.
