Pilgrims from the Federal Capital Territory currently in Madinah for the 2026 Hajj exercise have expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of this year’s pilgrimage operations.
The pilgrims said they were particularly impressed with the accommodation arrangements, feeding, transportation services, and visits to historical sites in Madina.
They also commended the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for providing each pilgrim with 500 dollars as Basic Travel Allowance (BTA) to support their stay during the pilgrimage.
The pilgrims further appreciated the efforts of the FCT Pilgrims Welfare Board and the FCT 2026 Hajj Ministerial Team led by Abdullahi Isah Kauranmata, which operates under the supervision of Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure.
They also praised the leadership of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria headed by Ismail Abba Yusuf for ensuring a successful Hajj operation.
Some of the Abuja pilgrims have already departed Madina for Makkah to commence the Umrah rites after completing their Ziyara activities.
Before the pilgrims’ departure from Nigeria, the Minister of State for the FCT urged them to be worthy ambassadors of the country and to continue praying for peace, unity, and progress in Nigeria.
She also cautioned them to be careful during currency exchange transactions, warning that some pilgrims are often cheated during the Hajj exercise.
Dr. Bunkure further prayed for Allah to accept the pilgrims’ acts of worship.
