The Radio France International(RFI) Hausa will on Saturday hold two important programmes in Kano as part of its efforts to boost its operations.
The event is tagged:”GRAND RFI HAUSA KANO FESTIVAL 2026.”
One of the two programmes which will take place at the Afficent Centre, Sultan Road,Kano, is called “RAYUWATA” that will focus on the lives of women and children.
The second event involves the celebration of the Kannywood film industry as a way of boosting the long-standing relationship between the industry and the RFI.
RFI Hausa director, Joseph Penny, who gave a line-up of activities for the programme at the Kano NUJ press centre on Friday, said the objective of the event is to deepen RFI’s relationship with Kano being its number one centre of audience.
Penny said RAYUWATA would connect with the audience and the Correspondents who produced video reports on the lives of the women.
According to him,the Correspondents who made those videos will answer questions on some of them to be screened at the event, how they made the reports, their experiences and what they think about them.
“And I think the videos are quite interesting; they are quite engaging; they are about quite different topics. They can just create conversations and hopefully be enriching for everybody involved,” he said.
There after, the director further announced, will be a Dinner meant to celebrate the achievements of Kannywood.
According to him,the event will also be used to encourage the industry, adding,” we have been covering Kannywood for seventeen years, and this is the moment where we like to thank the industry and play a part in encouraging the industry.”
