The second batch of Kano State pilgrims has departed Malam Aminu Kano International Airport for King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with 558 pilgrims onboard.
This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen by Sulaiman A. Dederi, Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board on Saturday.
Speaking during the farewell ceremony, the Amirul Hajj for the 2026 Hajj exercise and Emir of Gaya, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, urged the pilgrims to conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors of Kano State throughout their stay in the Holy Land.
He advised them to uphold the good image of the state, focus on acts of worship in Madinah, and avoid unnecessary disputes or noise, while respecting one another during the spiritual exercise.
Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim also prayed for Allah’s guidance, protection, and safe return of the pilgrims to reunite with their families in good health.
He further called on the pilgrims to obey the laws and regulations guiding the Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
The flight conveyed pilgrims from Nasarawa, Tarauni, Municipal, Kumbotso, Rano, Kibiya, Bunkure, and Dawakin Kudu Local Government Areas.
The airlift, conducted by Max Air, departed at about 5:42 p.m. from Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.
