The Death Of Hon. Abba Anas Adamu And The Smear Campaign Against Matawalle’s Impeccable Personality

Indication is glaring that, greed is eminently taking the two new high profile members of the Jigawa State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) into the kangaroo arrangement capable of leading them into a close link speedily and momentarily grinding their ill-fated Agenda into a dustbin of political history!
As at the time of filling in this piece of write-up, there was a palpable script designed to alter history in spite of its systematic interpretation, and the record of the human past. While we analyse the evidence as characterized by their desperation, we at the same time understand how events and decisions shape the present for the sole purposes of tomorrow. Record is information, created and kept as an evidence of events to track performance!
The initial intent of this piece is to debunk a plan designed to smear the impeccable personality of Hon. Bashir Adamu, the Matawalle of Kazaure and a four-term Member of the National Assembly representing Kazaure Federal Constituency. He is also currently the most qualified Candidate to beat as a
Gubernatorial Aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State.
However, as the desperation for the post of the Governor and Deputy Governorship went too far to the level of politicising the calamity that has befallen the State arising from the kidnapping of the two prominent citizens of Jigawa State which disturbingly caused the death of its former Commissioner of Education, former Guri Local Government Chairman and former Member of the National Assembly representing Birniwa, Guri and Kirikasamma Federal Constituency, Alhaji Abba Anas Adamu. It is therefore shocking to uncover an orchestrated plan designed to solely blackmail one of the Governorship Aspirants whom they viewed and perceived as the biggest threat to their principal who desperately nurses gubernatorial ambition!
It is the highest insensitivity to human feelings as well as a stark ignorance of State protocols to have capitalilised and undermined funeral prayers of a fellow Muslim with a view to seeking political advantage! Hon. Bashir Adamu arrived at the Mosque where the funeral prayers for the interment of the body of Abba Anas Adamu was about to take place before the arrival of the Governor of Jigawa State, His Excellency Umar Namadi. Much earlier, an ADC chieftain from the National Headquarters of the Party in person of Alhaji Kashim Imam was patiently at the Mosque waiting for the arrival of Matawallen Kazaure equally a Member of the National Working Committee (NWC) as well as its Director of Policy and Coordination, hence the reason why, he could not linked up with Sen. Nakudu and Malam Aminu Ringim respectively at the Deceased Residence.
It is disturbing and an absurdity to have linked the meeting of Matawalle, Alhaji Kashim Imam and His Excellency the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi Danmodi to the intervention the State Government willingly gave as its contribution through the Bank Account of Barrister Muhammed Abba Anas Adamu for the facilitation of the release of their father being a former member of the Jigawa State Executive Council who served the state meritoriously with all his strength. Ideally, this matter should not have been viewed with political undertones other than purely a humanitarian gesture of the State Government but for the preplanned orchestrated blackmail which could not in any way substitute destiny as ordained by the Almighty Allah.
What Matawalle deserves from the general public, the people of Jigawa State and the people of Hadejia Emirate in particular, is a loud ovation and an applause signalling their appreciation for his timely and successful coordination in handling the crises but not to smear his personality with unfounded and unsubstantiated propaganda assuming that doing so will diminish his immense goodwill and popularity amongst the general voters of Jigawa State. This action is condemnable as it amounts to a sheer display of unwarranted desperation for power. After all, it is to the knowledge of all people contacted by Matawalle including Sen. Nakudu in particular that not a single penny was lodged into Matawalle’s personal Bank Account.
As matter of fact as the information of the kidnapping filtered the air, had Jigawa State been under a purposeful government, it should have past tracked the negotiations with the bandits by promptly settling the huge ransom so demanded by the Kidnappers as an appreciation for what the two prominent captives offered for the development of the State at its critical take-off stage!
As per my opinion, those contracted to paddle and spread the heinous rumours that Matawalle, Kashim Imam and HE Governor Danmodi standing at one point in the mosque while Sen. Nakudu and Malam Aminu on the other side in an unholy alliance rather than on condolence mode, is an insult to the sensibilities of the people of Hadejia Emirate, Governor Danmodi and his entire government.
The crux of the matter was that Matawalle and Kashim Imam were at the Mosque before the arrival of Sen. Nakudu and Malam Aminu from the deceased house. When H.E. Governor Namadi arrived at the Mosque, he went straight and joined Matawalle and Kashim expressing condolences with the duo after the necessary courtesies and protocols! However to many keen observers, it was a glaring show of disrespect exhibited by Sen. Sabo Nakudu and Malam Aminu Ringim for failing to have acknowledged the presence of His Excellency Governor Namadi in such an atmosphere of mourning over the demise of one the prominent citizens of the State political differences notwithstanding. Lest we forget, it is still fresh in our memory, when Malam Aminu Ringim lost one of his blossom sons some years back, Governor Danmodi drove with all the Members of his Cabinet to Ringim the country home of Malam Aminu to condole him and his entire family.
For the avoidance of any doubt, the scenario that prompted the Jigawa State government intervention was initiated by Hon. Ibrahim Garba Hannun-Giwa, the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs out of his deep concern over the calamity that has trapped two of his closest friends now under the bondage of Kidnappers! It was therefore not surprising that the humane initiative emanated from the Ministry for Local Government for the simple reason that Abba Anas was a former elected Local government Chairman for Guri, in Hadejia Emirate. Hence, it was an act of slander to have associated the Jigawa State government gesture with Matawalli’s intervention.
Consequently, it was laughable and somehow an expository to share ignorance by talking blindly without proof to convince a discerning mind. Their ill-intention to dumpen Matawalle Kazaure’s prosperity and popularity will not however deter Matawalle or any right thinking member of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State and we are ever ready and handy to witness his swearing-in ceremony as the democratically elected Governor of Jigawa State come May, 2027.
For the avoidance of doubt, we members of the Jigawa State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) who have laboured for its actualization since June 2025 under the leadership of two most distinguished Jigawa State personalities in the persons of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Mahmud Gumel and Hon. Bashir Adamu the Matawalle of Kazaure will not surrender our right in administering our Party. At the same time, we are not selfishly blocking all windows for discussions as long as it could not exceed their appropriate levels.
To all members of the defunct Jigawa State New Nigeria’s People Party (NNPP) including those under Sen. Sabo Nakudu’s influence, their decision not to abandon Malam Aminu Ringim for the offence of not surrendering his Gubernatorial ticket, many amongst us were utterly regretting our past mistakes otherwise, Sen. Sabo Nakudu and many of us could have been under a greener posture! Sen. Sabo should have used his intellect passionately to distinguish between those interested in his political prosperity and those who want to deep their hands into his lucrative wealth for their selfish and personal aggrandisement.
The best time for Sen. Nakudu to rule Jigawa State, was in 2023, but greed and blackmailing strategy consumed his ambition in spite of his purported spontaneous resources to bankroll his campaign!
