Abacha Loses Kano PDP Governorship Ticket

Muhammad Sani Abacha, eldest Son of Nigeria’s late Head of State, Sani Abacha, has lost the ticket for the PDP governorship in Kano State for the 2027 general elections.
Abacha was defeated by Muhammad Bello Dalhatu in the PDP governorship primary election held in Kano.
Announcing the results of the primary election, Umar Danjani Hadejia
Chairman, PDP Kano State Governorship Primary Election Committee, said
Muhammad Sani Abacha, scored 749 votes, while Muhammad Bello Dalhatu, scores 2,233 votes, thus retuning Dalhatu as the winner of the process.
“Having scored the highest number of valid votes cast, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Dalhat was duly declared the winner of the PDP gubernatorial primary election and consequently returned as the party’s gubernatorial candidate for Kano State,” Hadejia said.
According to him,the exercise was conducted peacefully, transparently and without hitches, and in accordance with the party’s constitution and the electoral guidelines.
He commended all aspirants, delegates, party officials, security agencies, and stakeholders for their maturity, cooperation, and commitment throughout the exercise.
The chairman urged all members of the party to unite and work collectively towards the success of the party in the forthcoming elections.
