The Kano State Ministry of Justice has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Malam Muhammad Tahir, father of the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barrister Salisu Muhammad Tahir.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Najib Lawan Danbazau on Sunday.
According to the Statement, Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Kano State, Hon. Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, SAN, conveyed the condolences of the ministry’s management, counsel members, and staff to Barr. Salisu Muhammad Tahir and his family following the loss.
According to the statement, Malam Muhammad Tahir passed away in the early hours of Sunday after a brief illness.
The Attorney-General described the death as shocking and deeply saddening, noting that he received the news with profound grief while performing the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Maude said the loss was not only a personal tragedy for Barr. Salisu Muhammad Tahir and his family but also a significant loss to the Ministry of Justice and Kano State at large.
He paid tribute to the deceased, describing him as a devoted and God-fearing father whose life was marked by integrity, humility, and exemplary character.
The Attorney-General further noted that Malam Muhammad Tahir dedicated his life to service, honesty, and compassion, leaving behind a legacy that would continue to inspire others.
According to the statement, the late Malam Muhammad Tahir is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and other relatives, including Barr. Salisu Muhammad Tahir.
On behalf of the ministry, Maude prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. He also prayed for strength and fortitude for the bereaved family to bear the loss.
