Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has stated that his doors remain open to advice and constructive suggestions aimed at the development and progress of Kano State.
The Deputy Governor made this known while receiving a delegation from the Kano State chapter of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) in his office on Monday.
He expressed satisfaction with the delegation’s appreciation of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s gesture of allocating over Hajj seats to members of JIBWIS during the recently concluded 2026 Hajj exercise.
“This demonstrates the Governor’s commitment to supporting religious institutions in promoting the teachings and practice of Islam in accordance with the Sunnah,” Garo said.
Earlier, the leader of the JIBWIS delegation, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan, said the purpose of their visit was to congratulate the Deputy Governor on his new role.
Prof. Pakistan, the immediate past Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), prayed for Allah’s guidance and wisdom for both the Deputy Governor and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in the discharge of their responsibilities.
“I pray for Allah’s guidance in your new position, alongside Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf,” he said.
He described Deputy Governor Garo as a loyal, dedicated, and exemplary leader worthy of emulation.
Prof. Pakistan also requested the Deputy Governor to convey the group’s appreciation to Governor Yusuf for granting JIBWIS 27 Hajj seats during the recently concluded pilgrimage exercise.
“We equally appreciate the Governor for fostering unity among the various Islamic groups in the state and promoting peaceful coexistence,” he added.
While offering prayers for sustained peace and security in Kano State and Nigeria as a whole, Prof. Pakistan assured the administration of the group’s continued support through prayers and valuable advice to ensure the success of Governor Yusuf’s government.
