Ahmadiyya Platform basketball team has emerged winners of the maiden edition of Ahmad Musa Kida foundation 3×3 basketball competition held Rumfa College basketball court, Kano.
The one-day tournament which was sponsoring by the current President of the Nigerian Basketball Federation NBBF, Alhaji Ahmad Musa Kida as part of his commitment to develop the game at grassroots level across the country.
Ahmadiyya Platform defeated highly rated Rumfa College by 21-14 points to lift the giant trophy.
Speaking shortly after the final of the match, the competition’s coordinator and ex basketball star, Sunusi Shuaibu Badway expressed satisfaction with the turn out of spectators.
While expressing appreciation to the NBBF President, Ahmad Musa Kida for sponsoring the tournament in Kano, he called on the other wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to contribute their quota towards the overall development of the game in the state and the country at large.
Earlier, a Kano based businessman and veteran basketball player, Alhaji Tijjani Paki commended the NBBF President for supporting Kano state with this kind of competition.
Alhaji Tijjani Paki said that organizing such competition among youths in the state will definitely ginger and motivate the players to develop their skills ahead of future state, national and international engagements.
Highlights of the event include presentation of medals and trophies to the winners and runners up while the remaining six teams; Elevators, Bayero University Kano BUK team, Kabuga Warriors, Bukavu Blinks, Paki Warriors and Sweet Coach Mother went home souvenirs at the occasion.
