Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has described the Community Reorientation Council (CRC) as a vital grassroots organization contributing significantly to school feeding programmes, school renovations, early childhood education, healthcare delivery, water supply and other community development initiatives across the state.
Garo stated this on Thursday while receiving leaders of the CRC from the 44 local government areas of Kano State who paid him a courtesy visit to congratulate him on his emergence as Deputy Governor and to extend Eid-el-Kabir greetings.
The Deputy Governor commended the council for complementing government efforts in delivering social services and improving the welfare of communities.
“I appreciate this visit and the opportunity to meet with old partners. I recognize your efforts in feeding programmes, school renovations, support for early childhood education, rehabilitation of hospitals, water projects and other community development initiatives,” he said.
He assured the delegation that the concerns raised during the visit would be conveyed to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and addressed by the state government.
Garo expressed confidence in the council’s continued commitment to community service, noting that its contributions have positively impacted many communities across the state.
“I am confident that you will continue these sacrifices, which will not go unnoticed throughout Kano State,” he added.
Earlier, the State Chairman of the CRC, Alhaji Shakoor Yassar, said the visit was to congratulate the Deputy Governor on his appointment and to extend Sallah greetings on behalf of members of the council.
He appreciated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Deputy Governor for their support and concern for CRC members across the state.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to meet with Your Excellency and we pray for the success of your administration,” Yassar said.
The CRC chairman noted that the council had continued to support communities through interventions in education, healthcare and social welfare, while appealing for sustained government support to strengthen its activities at the grassroots level.
