The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the commencement of the Islamic New Year, 1448 AH, urging faithful to embrace reflection, gratitude, and renewed devotion to Allah.
In a statement issued on Monday by his spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, Falgore described the Islamic New Year as a period for spiritual renewal, forgiveness, and self-assessment. He called on Muslims to remain steadfast in their faith and to remember Allah in all aspects of their lives.
The Speaker prayed for peace, prosperity, and divine guidance for the people of Kano as the month of Muharram begins, expressing hope that residents would overcome challenges and achieve success both in this world and in the hereafter.
“On behalf of the Kano State House of Assembly, we wish you a New Year filled with blessings, renewed faith, and greater love for one another. May Allah make 1448 AH a year of spiritual growth, inner peace, and stability for the Muslim Ummah,” he said.
Falgore also reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to its constitutional responsibilities, assuring Kano residents that lawmakers would continue to enact legislation aimed at improving the welfare and living standards of the people.
He further commended the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his commitment to the development of the state and extended his best wishes to the governor and the people of Kano on the occasion of the Islamic New Year.
