The Accord Party has commended the Court of Appeal in Abuja for granting a stay of execution of a Federal High Court judgment that ordered the deregistration of five political parties, including the party.
In a statement signed by the women leader Aisha Ibrahim Ya’u on Tuesday, the party said it has confidence in the Nigerian judiciary as the guardian of constitutional democracy.
The statement explained the appellate court’s decision reinforced public trust and showed the importance of due process in matters affecting democratic institutions.
The party also assured members, supporters, and the public that Accord Party remains legally recognized pending final determination of all matters before the courts. It said all activities, structures, and organs of the party remain valid and operational.`
“We commend the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja for its timely intervention and commitment to the rule of law by granting a stay of execution of the judgment of the Federal High Court which ordered the deregistration of five political parties, including the Accord Party.”

The party assured all members, supporters, and the general public that it remained a legally recognized political party in Nigeria pending the final determination of all matters before the competent courts. Consequently, all activities, structures, and organs of the party remain valid and operational.
During its emergency meeting, the Accord Party noted that democracy thrives when citizens are presented with diverse political choices. We therefore support every lawful effort aimed at protecting multiparty democracy and ensuring that political participation remains open, competitive, and inclusive, the statement said.
The meeting reaffirmed its unwavering support for Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim and his vision for a united, prosperous, and democratic Nigeria. We urge all supporters to remain focused, peaceful, and committed to the party’s programmes and activities.
The meeting concluded with a unanimous vote of confidence in the leadership of Gbenga Olawepo Hashim as the only Candidate purchase Accord Party form due to his commitment to strengthening the party’s presence across all wards, local governments, and communities in Kano State and Nigeria at large.
