2027: Aminu Ringim Joins Sabo Nakudu’s Ticket For Jigawa ADC Governorship Contest

The political architecture of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Jigawa State has received a major boost, as veteran politician Mallam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim formally accepted his nomination as the party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate, completing the governorship ticket alongside Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mallam Ringim accepted the nomination during a colourful indoor ceremony held at his residence in Ringim on Sunday, 5 July 2026, describing the confidence reposed in him by the party’s leadership and Senator Nakudu as both a profound honour and a solemn call to selfless service.
His acceptance crowned weeks of strategic consultations and reinforces the growing consensus among ADC stakeholders that his wealth of political experience, administrative competence, and grassroots influence make him the ideal running mate for Senator Nakudu.
A statesman with nearly five decades of public service and political engagement, Ringim brings an exceptional résumé to the ticket. He served as a member of the House of Representatives over four decades ago, later as Commissioner for Agriculture and Chief of Staff, while also contesting the governorship of Jigawa State on three occasions under the PDP and the NNPP.
His enduring relevance and bipartisan respect have firmly established him among the state’s most influential political figures.
Beyond his impressive credentials, Ringim played a pivotal role in strengthening the ADC during the party’s primary process. His efforts in mobilising supporters, reconciling key stakeholders, and consolidating the coalition that produced Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu as the party’s governorship candidate underscored his commitment to party cohesion and victory.
By accepting the deputy governorship nomination, Ringim has once again demonstrated political maturity, unwavering loyalty, and an abiding commitment to collective leadership.
His decision to subordinate personal ambition to the broader interests of the party reflects the qualities of discipline, sacrifice, and statesmanship that many believe are indispensable to effective governance.
Political analysts view the Nakudu–Ringim ticket as a strategic blend of experience, credibility, administrative capacity, and grassroots strength. The pairing is widely regarded as one capable of broadening the ADC’s electoral appeal and positioning the party as a formidable contender in the 2027 governorship race.
With the governorship ticket now firmly in place, the ADC is expected to shift its attention to statewide mobilisation, coalition expansion, and issue-based engagement as it intensifies preparations to challenge for power in Jigawa State.
