The New Democratic Congress (NDC) Governorship Candidate in Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has urged all eligible residents who have yet to register with INEC especially youth and women to make use of the Commission’s new online portal and register from home using their NIN before the deadline on July 24, 2026.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, Comrade Gwarzo noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has launched a self-service registration platform that enables first-time voters to start and complete their registration online via cvr.inecnigeria.org.
He stressed the importance of voting as a vital way for citizens to express their opinions and influence the country’s democratic future.
According to him, “This new portal removes the barrier of long queues. Our young people, our mothers and sisters can now register at home using their phones or computers. There is no excuse not to participate.”
Gwarzo specifically urged youth and women to step forward and register, emphasising that the PVC is the only tool for positive change.
“The PVC is your power. It is the weapon we have to bring about positive change for our families, our communities, and Kano State. I am calling on our youth and women especially—register, collect your PVC, and vote in 2027,” he stated.
The NDC candidate urged all eligible Nigerians who are yet to register to complete their online pre-registration, proceed to biometric capture where necessary, and collect their PVCs once available.
“The future of Kano State and Nigeria depends on informed and responsible citizens,” Gwarzo said. “Register today, vote peacefully in 2027, and let’s build the Kano we all desire.”
He also appealed to community leaders, religious organisations, youth groups, and civil society organisations to mobilise citizens for mass registration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
