The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Gwale State Constituency seat in the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Tijjani Rabi’u Alhassan Maizare, has pledged to make education, youth empowerment, women’s welfare, support for orphans, child development and access to clean water his top priorities if elected in the 2027 general election.
Speaking in an interview with Blueprint Manhaja, Maizare said his ambition was driven by a desire to serve the people of Gwale and improve their living conditions.
He noted that his political aspiration is ultimately in the hands of God, adding that he and his supporters continue to pray for what is best for the constituency.
The PDP flag bearer said the education and upbringing he received equipped him with the values and understanding needed to relate with people and provide purposeful leadership.
Reflecting on his personal experience as an orphan, Maizare said he is determined to improve the lives of vulnerable children. “I do not want any orphan to continue feeling abandoned. Whenever I remember that I am also an orphan because I lost both my parents, I become even more determined to support children who are in similar circumstances,” he said.
He explained that coming from a family with a long history in business and politics exposed him to the principles of honesty, integrity, accountability and public service from an early age.
Maizare also described himself as a businessman, saying entrepreneurship runs in his family.
According to him, his parents opened a shop for him before he turned 20, giving him the opportunity to build practical business experience. He assured traders in Gwale that they would receive adequate attention and support if he is elected.
He said the knowledge, values and experience he acquired while growing up inspired him to contest for the Kano State House of Assembly seat, stressing that his goal is to provide effective representation and ensure that the people of Gwale enjoy responsive and people-centred leadership.
