The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has been honoured with the prestigious _Crisis Communicator Award_ at the 6th National Spokespersons Awards held in Abuja.
The award recognizes his outstanding role in crisis communication and effective information management, particularly in conveying government policies and addressing issues affecting the people of Kano State.
Presenting the award, organizers noted the importance of effective communication in building understanding between government and citizens, especially during times of crisis and public concern.
Receiving the honour, Comrade Waiya dedicated it to the Kano State Government under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, staff of the Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs, and the media community in the state.
He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening government-citizen communication, saying timely and accurate information remains key to good governance and public trust.
The recognition places Kano State among states receiving national acclaim for excellence in government communication.
