Survey:Kano Education Commissioner Tasks Stakeholders On Children’s Education

Kano State Commissioner for Education, Gwani Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda,has called on parents, communities, traditional institutions, religious leaders, development partners and other stakeholders to work closely with the State government in addressing barriers to education and encouraging families to send their children to school.
A statement signed by Surayya Hussain Muhammad, Public Relations Officer of the State Ministry of Education, said the commissioner made the call during the dissemination of the Kano State Out-of-School Children Survey Report at the premises of the Ministry.
He emphasized the commitment of the State Government to strengthening the education sector and ensuring that no child is left behind.
He noted that the findings of the survey would serve as an important tool for government and its partners in identifying areas requiring urgent attention and developing sustainable strategies to enrol, retain and support out-of-school children.
The dissemination brought together key stakeholders in the education sector, including government officials, education partners, traditional and community leaders, development organisations, school administrators and other relevant stakeholders to review the findings of the survey and discuss practical measures for reducing the number of children who are out of school across the state.
The survey report provides important information on the scale and distribution of out-of-school children in Kano State, as well as some of the factors contributing to their exclusion from education.
The findings are expected to support evidence-based planning, policy formulation and targeted interventions aimed at ensuring that every child in the state has access to quality and inclusive education.
The Ministry of Education reaffirmed its commitment to using reliable data and evidence to guide educational planning and interventions throughout Kano State.
The dissemination of the report,therefore, marks an important step towards strengthening collaboration among stakeholders and accelerating efforts to reduce the number of out-of-school children in the state.
