Former Vice Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University, Yola, Professor Abdullahi Liman Tukur, has been appointed Director General of the Adamawa Renewed Hope 226 Movement (ARH 226M).
Tukur was appointed by Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to spearhead the movement’s political mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 general elections for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the state.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, disclosed this in a statement issued in Yola on Wednesday.
According to Wonosikou, the movement is a strategic political mobilisation platform aimed at ensuring a resounding victory for the APC in Adamawa State and at the national level in the 2027 general elections, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He stated that Governor Fintiri congratulated Professor Tukur on his appointment and expressed confidence in his capacity to lead the movement to success.
“Professor Abdullahi Liman Tukur brings to this assignment an impeccable academic pedigree, proven leadership qualities, and a deep commitment to democratic ideals.
“His wealth of experience in governance, scholarship, and grassroots mobilisation makes him the right choice to drive this critical assignment,” the statement quoted the Governor as saying.
Fintiri further noted that Tukur’s integrity, intellectual depth and record of service to Adamawa State and the nation would be vital in galvanising party members, stakeholders and the electorate towards a united front ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Governor charged the new Director General to work closely with party leaders, stakeholders, youth and women groups to expand the reach of the movement across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
Similarly, Governor Fintiri approved the appointment of Chiwaren Emmanuel Abubakar as Secretary of the Adamawa Renewed Hope 226 Movement.
The Governor expressed confidence in Abubakar’s capacity to effectively discharge the responsibilities of the office and charged him to work closely with the Director General and party stakeholders for the overall success of the movement.
Fintiri also urged APC members and supporters across Adamawa State to give Professor Tukur and the movement their full support and cooperation to ensure the party’s success in 2027.
