KSCHMA, Kano Zakkat Commission Enrol 100 Residents Into Contributory Healthcare Scheme
-Partnership expands healthcare access and advances Kano’s inclusive healthcare agenda

The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA), in collaboration with the Kano State Zakkat and Hubsi Commission, has enrolled 100 residents into the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Scheme as part of its efforts to expand access to affordable and quality healthcare services across the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by Aminu Ahmad Turaki, Public Relations Officer of KSCHMA.
Turaki said the enrollment exercise was conducted at Daiba Mosque, Rijiyar Lemo, where the beneficiaries were formally registered under the Scheme and sensitised on the importance of healthcare coverage and effective utilisation of available health services.
Speaking during the exercise, the Executive Secretary of KSCHMA, Dr. Rahila Aliyu Muktar, commended the Kano State Zakkat and Hubsi Commission for its partnership and commitment to improving the wellbeing of residents through increased access to healthcare.
Dr.Rahila described the collaboration as a significant step towards strengthening social protection and ensuring that more people, particularly vulnerable and underserved residents, benefit from the state’s Contributory Healthcare Scheme.
The Executive Secretary emphasised that enrolment provides beneficiaries with improved access to essential healthcare services while reducing the financial burden associated with seeking medical care.
She urged the newly-enrolled beneficiaries to utilise the healthcare services available under the scheme responsibly and encouraged other government institutions, organisations, philanthropists and community-based groups to support efforts to expand healthcare coverage across Kano State.
She reaffirmed KSCHMA’s commitment to deepening strategic partnerships and taking healthcare coverage closer to communities in line with the Kano State Government’s inclusive healthcare policy.
The collaboration further demonstrates the importance of inter-agency cooperation in advancing universal health coverage and strengthening social protection mechanisms for residents of Kano State.
KSCHMA remains committed to ensuring that more residents are brought under the Contributory Healthcare Scheme and can access quality healthcare without facing undue financial hardship.
