The Kano State Government has called on Muslims across the state to remain committed to the teachings, exemplary conduct and values of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in their daily interactions and dealings with one another.
The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, made the call on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf during the 1448 AH/2026 Maulud celebration of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) held at various Islamic centres, known as Zawiyyas, across the Kano metropolis on Monday.
Garo described the Maulud celebration as an important occasion for spiritual reflection, urging Muslims to translate the lessons from the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) into practical actions that promote peace, tolerance, compassion, hospitality and peaceful coexistence.
He also called on leaders at all levels to uphold the principles of honesty, patience, fairness and justice in the discharge of their responsibilities, stressing that leadership comes with a duty to protect the interests and welfare of the people.
The Deputy Governor further urged the people of Kano State to reflect on the exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and draw inspiration from his teachings on peace, justice, compassion, tolerance, humility and service to humanity.
He emphasised the importance of peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding among citizens, regardless of their ethnic, religious or political differences.
Garo also urged residents to use the occasion of the Maulud celebration to pray for the continued peace, stability, progress and prosperity of Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.
PRIME TIME NEWS reports that the Deputy Governor visited the Zawiyyas of Sheikh Uba Mandawari; Sheikh Dan’Almajiri Daiba in Rijiyar Lemo Quarters; Sheikh Yusuf Makwarari; the late Sheikh Abubakar Ramadan; Sheikh Sani Hassan Kafinga; and Gidan Baba Kusa in Bakin Zuwa Quarters.
Leaders of the various Islamic centres commended the Kano State Government for the support provided towards the successful celebration of the Maulud and prayed for Allah’s continued guidance and support for the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
