From Abubakar Rabilu Gombe
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency bye-election, Dr Usman Maijama’a Kallamu, has appealed to voters in the constituency to support the party in the September 19, 2026 poll.
Kallamu made the appeal on Wednesday while speaking with journalists during his campaign activities ahead of the election being organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He urged eligible voters across Gombe, Kwami and Funakaye Local Government Areas to come out en masse on election day and cast their votes peacefully in favour of the APC.
The candidate said he decided to contest the election because of his desire to provide effective representation and contribute to the socio-economic development and wellbeing of the people.
Kallamu also appealed to his supporters and other stakeholders to conduct themselves peacefully throughout the electioneering period, urging them to shun violence, provocation and other acts capable of undermining the peaceful conduct of the poll.
He expressed confidence in the electorate’s support, assuring them of his commitment to prioritising their interests and addressing issues affecting the constituency if elected.
He therefore called on voters to give him their mandate by voting for the APC on September 19.
INEC has fixed September 19, 2026, for the conduct of the bye-election in the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency.
