Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has urged Muslims, particularly youths, to uphold peace, unity and good character by emulating the teachings and exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Garo made the call on Sunday while attending a Maulud gathering hosted by Sheikh Bazullahi Sheikh Muhammad Nasiru Kabara at Goron Dutse, Kano.
He urged the congregation to emulate the Prophet’s qualities of trustworthiness, perseverance, patience and tolerance, while promoting peaceful coexistence, education and respect for religious institutions and elders.
The Deputy Governor commended Sheikh Bazullahi for organising the gathering to commemorate the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and promote Islamic teachings and good character, describing such programmes as particularly important in guiding youths.
Garo prayed for continued peace, unity and stability in Kano State and Nigeria.
Earlier, the Deputy Governor represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the wedding Fatiha of Aisha Sani Buji and Mustapha Abdulkareem in Bichi Local Government Area.
The bride is the daughter of Alhaji Nafiu Sani Buji, a businessman and Managing Director of Buji Nigeria Ltd and a political stakeholder in the area.
The Fatiha was conducted in accordance with Islamic rites at the Late Alhaji Sani Buji Mosque, with a dowry of N200,000, in the presence of family members, friends and other dignitaries.
Garo congratulated the couple and their families, praying Allah to bless their marriage with love, peace, understanding and prosperity. He also urged the newlyweds to uphold patience, mutual respect and commitment in their marital journey.
The Deputy Governor was accompanied by Hon. Dr. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi, Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation in the House of Representatives; APC State Secretary, Prof. Yusuf Muhammad Sabo; former Kano State Hisbah Commander, Sheikh Sani Harun Ibn-Sina; and other dignitaries.
Among those at the wedding were the Executive Chairman of Bichi Local Government Area, Hon. Hamza Sule Mai Fata; Executive Director, Finance, Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Hon. Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso; and religious and traditional leaders.
