Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on Monday represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the funeral prayer (Janazah) of former Director-General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Sani Lawan Kofar Mata.
The funeral prayer of Late Alhaji Lawan who died on Sunday at his residence in Daurawa Quarters, Tarauni Local Government Area was held at the premises of Daurawa Primary School and was led by Sheikh Kamalu Inuwa.
Deputy Governor Garo joined family members, traditional rulers, religious leaders, political associates, community leaders, businessmen and other mourners from across the State in paying their final respects to the deceased.
Alhaji Sani Lawan Kofar Mata was a prominent political figure in Kano State and was known for his contributions to humanitarian services, the development of Kano State and the country at large.
He was later laid to rest at Tarauni Cemetery in the State capital.
The Deputy Governor prayed to Allah to forgive the deceased, grant him Jannatul Firdaus and give his family, friends and associates the strength to bear the loss.
Late Alhaji Sani Lawan Kofar Mata is survived by three wives, many children and grandchildren.
