Citizens inputs will make Jigawa 2024 Budget – Commissioner

The Jigawa state commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Babangida Umar Gantsa said the citizen’s inputs will form the 2024 Budget for the state.
The commissioner dropped the hint while delivering an opening remarks at 2024 Budget town-hall meeting with stakeholders to collect citizens inputs, organised by Ministry of budget and Economic Planning in collaboration with ELIP, held on Tuesday at state Secretariat Dutse.
He explained that, Jigawa government prioritize citizen’s inputs in preparing annual budget as crucial to achieve the desired goals targeted in the budget.
“Our ministry of Budget and Economic Planning incollaboration
with Exceptional Leadership and Integrity Promotion ( ELIP), organised Town Hall meeting with stakeholders to serve as crucial platform for Civic engagement, allowing citizens to have direct inputs in the area of priorities for transparency and Accountability”, he said.
According to him, through the meeting many claims and needs were received across three Senatorial zones and after the meetings all the claims will be use to develop 2024 budget, and also share the claims to relevant authorities including independent verifiers.
While making his presentation, the executive director ELIP comrade Isah Mustapha urged the citizens to prioritize qualitative over quantitative issues in the budget to move the state forward.
He then commended the state ministry of budget and Economic planning for giving chances to citizens for transparency and Accountability in the budget.
