Adamawa Northern Zone Senator promises to deliver dividends of democracy to constituents

Senator Amos Yohanna of the Adamawa Northern Senatorial District has pledged to do everything in his power to provide dividends of democracy to his constituents.

In an interview with journalists in Yola, Senator Yohanna, who was inaugurated by the Senate after a court judgment sacked former Senator Ishaku Abbo, stressed that his constituents and Nigerians should expect responsible representation from him.

“Adamawa North Senatorial District should expect very responsible representation,” he said. “They should expect that they have somebody who is there for them. They should know that they have somebody who will unite them to live in peace and have their desires properly addressed.”

Senator Yohanna acknowledged the many challenges facing the country, but noted that there are many solutions that can be used to tackle them head-on, especially with the support and cooperation of everyone.

He called on everyone, including his immediate predecessor, Senator Abbo, to work with him in the interest of the people so that much can be achieved for good.

“I have never sought to serve my personal ego but the common good,” he said. “Mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and the general good of the people should always supercede individual egos. We should work together because we are, after all, one people.”

He expressed his commitment to working with Governor Ahmadu Fintiri to ensure that all the people in his district who suffered attacks by Boko Haram elements are properly resettled to their normal livelihoods.

“The governor has already addressed most issues,” he said. “Mine is to work with him to get our people properly resettled.”

Senator Yohanna of the PDP was inaugurated on October 25 by the Senate after a Court of Appeal sacked Senator Abbo of the APC, ruling that Amos is the authentic candidate duly elected by the people of Adamawa Northern Senatorial District in the 2023 general elections.
