RAF Empowers Widows of Late Journalists, Activists During Its 13th End of Year Event

The Richard Akinnola Foundation (RAF), on Saturday held  the  first phase of its  13th end of the year empowerment program.

The event saw the  distribution of food items and money to widows and children of late journalists and activists.

This was made known by the Executive Director of the foundation, Sir Richard Akinnola in a post on his official Facebook page, Richard Akinnola ||.

According to the veteran journalist, this year’s program  saw the initiation of medical check-ups for the late journalists and activists’ widows.

He noted that  the foundation’s pro bono medical support team was able to  check the BP and sugar levels of beneficiaries and participants.

Akinnola added that through this, we the foundation was  able to save three potential stroke patients among the beneficiaries, who he said their BP readings were hitting the roof.

The highly elated Akinnola noted  that the second phase of this year’s event would witness fund transfers to other beneficiaries who are outside Lagos.

He then  expressed  his gratitude to other stakeholders for making this year’s edition a success.

“To God the glory of God, we held the 13th edition of the first phase of the end of the year empowerment of Richard Akinnola Foundation for the widows of journalists and activists today.

“I also want to express my appreciation to those who sent in their financial support. The next phase is for funds transfer to other beneficiaries who are outside Lagos.

“Thank God for the initiative to introduce medical check up into this year’s event, where our pro bono medical support team checked the BP and sugar level of beneficiaries and participants. Thank God we did.

“Through this, we were able to save three potential stroke patients among the beneficiaries whose BP readings were hitting the roof.

“An urgent medication had to be administered on one person. I also want to thank some of our comrades who took time to attend the event. We give God the glory”, he submitted.
