“The Federal College of Education Yola has come a long way in the teacher production business, It is my vision to make the College the best among equals, and the most preferred learning destination in the country. We want to make FCE Yola a significant contributor to the society and an asset to humanity.

“The College has continued to focus on her pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and service to humanity as captured in our vision, which is “To be a leading College in Africa in the training of efficient and creative teachers, and the promotion of professionalism, research and Community services”.

“My dear students, I want to remind you that the distance between today’s event and the convocation ceremony is quite wide and requires dedication and commitment to learning and good character. It is therefore important that we make this journey worthwhile by being honest patient, charitable and decent,” he said.

Provost Degereji admonished the new intake adhere strictly to rule and regulations of the college warning that, the institution maintain zero tolerance for any form of anti-social vices such as cultism, hooliganism and exams malpractices and corruption.

He also urged the students to inculcate cherished values of cleanliness, punctuality, cooperation, self-discipline, and simplicity.

“As an administration, we will continue to provide the enabling environment for your success. In spite of our meager resources, we have renovated and furnished the students Common rooms to provide greater opportunities for socialization and broaden your horizon on global issues. We have improved the College’s internet services, stocked the e-library with relevant research and resource materials and provided a befitting sports complex.

“It is noteworthy that FCE Yola Sports Complex is yet unequalled in the country, in terms of facilities and standard. I urge you to make the best use of it, in your pursuit of sporting excellence. Not only do we have to make judicious use of these resources and facilities, we must also guard them jealously.

” I want to appeal to you to ensure that you are well equipped with the necessary requisites to pursue your degree program, like the JAMB as well as the requirements for eligibility for the Federal Government’s Students Loan under the NELFund scheme. Our dual status as a degree and NCE awarding institution is an added advantage. So, seize it.
