Adamawa: FG urge traditional rulers, parents to invest in education

Personal Assistant to the President on Constituency Affairs, Alhaja Khadijat Kareem Omotayo has urge the traditional royal highnesses to encourage people in their domains are pursuing education for development in the country.

Alhaja Omotayo also advised parents and guardians to ensure their ward faces their studies serious saying that even president Bola Tinubu has realize that without education, there is no future in all human endeavors.

Omotayo who spoke at a town hall meeting with stakeholders on areas that needs Federal government attention in Adamawa state Monday said education remains the bedrock of all developments adding that even those that are self employed can not compete with those (people) that are educated.

She reiterated the commitment of the Federal government in promotion of education which she said informed the introduction of students’ loan opportunity by the president calling on the students to queue in through NELFUND initiative.

She explained that the meeting became necessary so that people will ventilate their views on areas where federal government projects are abandoned or where federal government presence are needed in the overall interest of the citizenry.

Earlier in the technical session of the meeting various stakeholders appeal for completion of major abandoned projects including Yola-Mubi federal road,Numan -Jalingo road,Yola -Gombe and lafiya -Karim lamido federal roads testifying that some of these roads were abandoned for as long as forty (40) years ago.

Some beared concerns about according constitutional roles to traditional rulers considering the roles they play in addressing insecurity as well as projects on rural electrification in rural areas especially in the central Senatorial zone.

In his remarks, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri expressed gratitude to the federal government for initiating such on the spot assessment tour to hear directly from the stakeholders over their plights.

Represented by the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Hon.James Iliya, Fintiri pledge to support all meaningful projects with direct bearing on the populance.
