Adamawa Gov’t Warns Against Disruption of Public Peace, Threatens Prosecution
From Umar Dankano, Yola
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has cautioned individuals or groups contemplating protests that may disrupt public order due to economic challenges.
The governor, through his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, issued the warning in response to alleged plans by some unpatriotic individuals to sponsor miscreants and incite chaos in the state.
The press statement, released on Monday, emphasized that the state government possesses intelligence reports indicating the potential threat of some youths intending to break into government and privately owned warehouses for personal gains.
Governor Fintiri declared a firm stance against those attempting to endanger citizens for their personal interests, asserting that his government would not tolerate any disruption of public peace.
“I will not fold my arms and watch anyone or any group of people trying to sabotage the government,” Governor Fintiri affirmed, questioning why these individuals are not utilizing available channels to address their concerns.
Expressing concern over potential acts of sabotage, he warned criminals that Adamawa State would be inhospitable to those seeking to exploit it for unlawful activities.
The governor called out individuals supporting criminal elements and assured that their efforts to disturb the peace in the state would not succeed.
“We are aware that some in our society are giving support to these criminal elements to upturn the peace in our state. They will not succeed. We will make sure that they don’t succeed,” Governor Fintiri boldly declared.
