Adamawa: NSE Yola inaugurates new branch exco, seeks partnership with govt

The Nigerian Society of Engineers, Adamawa state has pledged to partner with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration being an engineering-friendly government.

The newly elected chairman of the Society, Engineer Aminu Ahmadu Yaro pledged at the 2023-2025 exco-tenure inauguration ceremony for the elected 10-man state leadership stressing that, the giant strides recorded in the area of infrastructural development by the Fintiri’s government is where they can translate their professional expertise if given the opportunity.

Engineer Yaro at the ceremony held in Yola weekend said the collaboration will also promote the profession of engineering and seek for implementation of appropriate policies that would move engineering forward in the state and country at large.

” I wish to extend this clarion call of ‘Together We Can Make NSEYOLA Greater’ which  is a call to all members to bring up ideas and words of counsel that would move the Society forward as we are ready to run an all-inclusive administration believing that, a tree cannot make a forest, but trees can

“Respected engineers! I strongly believe that NSE YOLA belongs to all engineers and therefore only we can uplift the Society to whatever height we aspire it to get to. 

“It is therefore, mandatory upon us to come together in order to strategize, redesign and re-engineer the NSE for a better image, befitting of problem solvers, the engineers, and all hands must be on the drawing board not just the deck if we want to succeed” Yaro advised.

He promised to promote a membership drive by encouraging new members to register through the branch with the aim of sourcing revenue through the dues for executing laudable programs for the growth of the society urging members to rally around the leadership.

He stated that the Society will work with MAU, Yola, AUN, Yola and other tertiary institutions to organize International Conferences in order to address problems in society via research and to develop or put the society on the map of the world. 

In his speech, the Immediate Past Chairman Engineer Mundi Ibrahim Musa expressed gratitude for the opportunity and support accorded to his outgoing executive calling on the members of the Association to support and cooperate with the new leadership.

Among the new leadership inaugurated were Engr. Aminu Ahmadu Yaro as Chairman, Engr. Onyekachi Timothy as Vice Chairman, Engr. Ayuba Tukuli Buni as General Secretary while Engr. John Enock Oguntokun as Assistant General Secretary.

Engr. Abbas Faruk Abubakar and Engr. Abubakar Abdulsalam was elected as Financial Secretary​ and Technical Secretary​ while Engr. Zwalatha Daniel Lambo​​​​ was also elected as Treasurer among others.
