Adamawa PDP Elects New State Executive Officials for Four-Year Tenure

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has conducted its state congress, where 39 new executive officials emerged through a consensus arrangement.
Former Organising Secretary of the party, Hon. Hamza Bello Madagali, was elected as the new state chairman alongside 38 others during the 2025 congress held at the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola over the weekend.
More than 2,000 delegates from the 21 local government areas of the state participated in the exercise, which was supervised by the Adamawa State Congress Committee Chairman, Barrister Dave Iorhemba. Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), representatives of the PDP at the national level, and security agencies also monitored the process.
Addressing party members, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri applauded the support given to the PDP-led administration in the state and described the congress as “a reflection of the government’s success in delivering good governance.”
“The delegates have come to demonstrate their happiness in electing new leaders of the party for another four years. We have confidence in the new leaders; we know them, and we have chosen them to lead us. They are experienced, and we believe they will steer the party well. We are working towards 2027 and, insha Allah, we will be there. Power belongs to God, but we are ready,” Fintiri said.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected state chairman, Hamza Bello Madagali, thanked the delegates for affirming his leadership and appreciated Governor Fintiri for his guidance.
“The PDP will remain a true family. We will strengthen our structure into a more united party. We are proud of Governor Fintiri because he has changed the state for the better. Every member will be carried along. I also thank the outgoing chairman, Barrister Tahir Shehu, for handing over a stable and formidable structure,” he stated.
The new executive committee of the Adamawa State PDP includes Hamza Alhaji Bello as State Chairman and Engr. Belmond Dogo as State Deputy Chairman. The three Vice Chairmen are Umar Sahid (South), Shekarau Yerima (Central), and Steven Doma (North). Saleh Mohammed Musa Shelleng is the State Secretary, Barr. Ishaku Y. Daniel is the Legal Adviser, and Bature Moses serves as Auditor.
Others are Titus Samaila, Organising Secretary (South); Victor Dogo, Publicity Secretary (South); Ahmadu Dahiru, Treasurer (North); Suzan Zira, Woman Leader (North); Dedan Clifford, Youth Leader (South); and Jafaru Yusuf, Financial Secretary (South).
