A Yola based women political movement have asked the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, (PTDF), Ahmed Aminu Galadima to resign his post and join the governorship race in Adamawa state.
The group under the auspice, Galadima Women Support Group (GWSG) made public their demand at its convention held in Yola, the Adamawa state capital on yesterday stressing that, their action was born out of patriotism and betterment of the state as a whole.
Speaking at the event, Zonal Coordinator of the group,GWSG.Mrs Paulina Kaigama said that the intimidating track record of achievements, integrity, experience and capacity of Ahmed Galadima informed the decision to support this course in the best interest of the state.
“I want to use this opportunity to thank God for the clear vision He gave women in Adamawa to come with the noble idea of supporting a man of honor with the poise to turn around the fortunes of our dear state”. Kaigama
In her remarks, the state Coordinator of the group, Hajiya Mariya Adamu Nyako stated that the group has already raised over N120 Million to secure the APC s nomination and expression of intent forms for Ahmed Galadima and will be mobilizing three million (3m) votes for president Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the state.
Nyako explained that the track records of him in many sectors including ; Youth empowerment,education, community development and philanthropy gave a noticeable edge among other aspirants describing him as a man with the requisite knowledge, goodwill, and experience to lead the state.
“Alhaji Ahmad Tijjani Galadima has touched many lives through his benevolence, and his impact is felt not only in Adamawa but across the nation,” she said.
She further revealed that groups and individuals who have benefited from Galadima’s support have already raised ₦129 million towards his aspiration noting that the movement has set an ambitious target of ₦200 million to support his bid.
“This money will help purchase his nomination form and more. It is a clear call on him to contest the governorship seat. We believe he will not disappoint us,” she added.
She explained that the group’s mission focuses on uniting women across all local government areas to support leaders who prioritize education, social empowerment, community development, resource mobilisation, inclusive governance, and the upliftment of the less privileged.

Galadima, wife of the PTDF Executive Secretary, thanked the Adamawa women for urging her husband to contest.
Mrs Galadima told the gathering that her husband understand the challenges facing the people in the state and that he is committed to addressing them if given the opportunity to serve as Governor in the 2027 General elections.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to lift the ban on campaigns, although many aspirants have already begun indicating interest in the Adamawa State governorship race across political parties.
